No bot joins
your meeting
There is no extra participant, no “recording” announcement, and nothing in the attendee list. Whispifys runs in your browser and reads what your own screen is already showing.
- ! Which makes it your job to say so. Nobody is told a transcript is being kept, and in many places you are legally required to tell them. Our terms say the same thing.
Installing it takes a minute
There is nothing to download, no meeting bot to invite, and nothing to ask your IT department for.
- Add Whispifys to Chrome. Open the Chrome Web Store listing and press Add to Chrome, then Add extension when Chrome asks. It works in Chrome and in any Chromium browser that can install from the store — Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera. Pin it, and the Whispifys icon sits next to the address bar so you can see what it is doing during a call. Chrome may say the extension is “not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing”. That is a status Google grants an extension after it has been in the store for some months without a policy problem — every new listing starts without it, and it says nothing about what this one does. Whispifys asks for permission on Teams and on whispifys.com, and nowhere else.
- Sign in with Google. Click the icon and press Sign in. Whispifys asks for your name and email address and nothing else — no access to Gmail, Drive or your calendar. The account is what your transcripts belong to, and it is what lets you read them on another machine.
- Turn on live captions in your next Teams call. In the call, open More (…) → Language and speech → Turn on live captions. Only you see them, and nobody in the call is told. Whispifys reads those captions — so this one setting is what the whole thing runs on. Teams remembers it per call, not for good, so it is worth doing at the start of each one. The extension starts recording by itself the moment captions appear.
- Read it here afterwards. Everything lands at whispifys.com — searchable, and groupable into spaces, and downloadable as a text file whenever you want one. Signing in is not optional: a transcript needs an account to belong to, so nothing is recorded until you have one.
If a call is not being transcribed, the Diagnose link in the extension says why in one line — usually captions being off, or Teams running in the desktop app rather than the browser. Whispifys works in the browser version of Teams.

Questions
Does it record audio?
No. Whispifys reads the live captions Teams generates when you switch them on. It never captures audio or video, and never joins your meeting as a participant.
Will other people know?
Whispifys does not announce itself in the meeting. You are responsible for telling the other participants that you are keeping a transcript, and in many places you are legally required to. See our terms.
Can I use my own AI instead of credits?
Yes. Connect your own Claude to Whispifys over MCP and read your transcripts there. That works on every plan, including Free, and costs no credits.
Who can see my transcripts?
Only you. Every transcript is scoped to the account that recorded it. They are not used to train any model.
What if I cancel?
Your transcripts stay, and so do any credits you have bought. You drop back to the Free plan's monthly allowance.
